• Q?
  • How can I get more information on adopting a dog I see on the site & how does your adoption process work ?

  • A.
  • Call us at (519) 472-9396. Often you will speak to someone when you call. If not, leave a message or email us at contactk9resq@gmail.com We will return your call & or email as quickly as possible. We will take information from you to insure this would be a good match, & if you are interested in meeting the dog, we will set that up with the foster home or current home. Some of our main questions will pertain to your lifestyle, hours away from the home, other pets in the home, views on care and treatment, and vetting. Full disclosure will be given on the pet. If we feel this is the perfect home, you will be given a 3 week trial period before receiving adoption papers.

  • Q?
  • How do I find a good home for my dog through your organization? What do I need to do? Is there a cost?

  • A.
  • We will collect all pet information, including vet records, training, and grooming information. We need to know a great deal about your pet to find the right match. You will need to have his/her vaccines up to date & spayed or neutered. We will also require a good picture for the site. We may also list your pet on Petfinder. We screen very carefully & will only present the best home possibilities to you. There is no cost to you for our time, efforts & expertise. We have been matching dogs and families for many years before we formed our own group.

  • Q?
  • How do I find a home for a dog I found?

  • A.
  • A First check with AC/C to see if someone has called in to report their pet missing. Leave the info with them as to the dog you have in your care and have them call you when the owner calls in. If after 14 days you have heard nothing, then you can list the dog with us as if he was your own.

  • Q?
  • How can I help your group?

  • A.
  • We are in great need of foster homes, especially for larger dogs. If you are interested, please call and we will explain it all. It will cost you nothing, and the rewards will be great. If you are in a position to make a donation, we can issue a tax receipt. We can always use more volunteers to help at the many community events we do throughout the year.

The main ones are: Pawlooza (August), Global Pet & Pet Valu Store promo days, and our own garage / yard sales.

All events are fun, casual, and help raise the funds we need for our foster dogs. They also provide public awareness that K9ResQ needs. We are also always in need of transportation assistance. Transportation is sometimes required to take a dog to the vet, or to transport a dog to, or from a home. Contact us today to see how you can help us and our dogs at K9ResQ!
